Privacy Policy – Subsift Chrome Extension

In short

Subsift scrapes the Reddit posts and comments you choose, and keeps them in your browser. Their text is only sent to our server when you run an AI action, and we do not store it after the report is returned. We keep anonymous monthly usage counts to enforce the free limit, and your email only if you join the Pro waitlist. We do not sell personal information.

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the Subsift Chrome extension ("Subsift," "we," "our") handles information. Subsift scrapes and analyses Reddit posts and comments you choose. It is operated by SellOnLLM. This policy covers the Subsift extension only. The rest of sellonllm.com is covered by the main privacy policy.

What we do not collect

  • No account. Subsift does not need a login or your name.
  • No browsing history. We do not track the sites you visit. Subsift only accesses reddit.com.
  • No Reddit account data. Subsift does not read your Reddit messages or account settings.
  • No location data and no advertising or tracking cookies.

Data stored on your device

These stay in your browser's extension storage and are not sent to us unless you run an AI action:

  • Scraped posts and comments, and your scrape history.
  • Your settings.
  • A random install ID created on install, used only to count your monthly AI allowance.

Scraping happens in your browser. Subsift reads Reddit's public JSON for the post or subreddit you ask for, using your existing Reddit session. You can delete any scrape from the History tab. Uninstalling Subsift deletes all of this data.

Data sent when you use an AI action

When you click "Find pain points & themes" or ask a question, the text of the scraped posts and comments (up to a size limit) is sent to our server, which passes it to an AI model provider to generate the report. We do not store this text after the report is returned.

Scraping, exports, history and instant stats work without AI actions, so nothing leaves your browser if you don't use them.

Data stored on our servers

  • Usage counts: your anonymous install ID, your IP address and a monthly count of AI reports, used only to enforce the free plan's limit and prevent abuse. Counts older than 30 days are deleted automatically.
  • Pro waitlist: if you join, your email address and the price you were shown. Kept until Pro launches or until you ask us to remove it.
  • Ratings and feedback: if you rate Subsift in the extension, your star rating and any comment you write.

Third-party services

  • Reddit. Your browser requests data from reddit.com as you normally would. Reddit's privacy policy applies to those requests.
  • OpenRouter routes AI requests to model providers, which process the text you send to generate a report under their own terms.
  • Cloudflare hosts our server and database.

Extension permissions

  • sidePanel: shows Subsift's scrape form, results and history in Chrome's side panel.
  • storage: saves your scrape history, settings and install ID locally.
  • unlimitedStorage: lets large subreddit scrapes exceed the default local storage quota. History is kept only on your device.
  • Access to www.reddit.com and old.reddit.com: reads Reddit's public JSON for the post or subreddit you ask to scrape. No other sites are accessed.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent your data.
  • We don't use your data for advertising or to determine creditworthiness.
  • We don't track your browsing.

Children's privacy

Subsift is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

  • Delete any scrape from the History tab, or uninstall Subsift to remove all local data.
  • Don't use AI actions if you don't want post text to leave your browser.
  • Email sellonlllm@gmail.com to remove your waitlist email or feedback.

GDPR

We process the data above to provide the features you request (performance of a service), to prevent abuse of the free plan (legitimate interest), and, for the waitlist, with your consent. You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its processing, by emailing sellonlllm@gmail.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

CCPA

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents can email sellonlllm@gmail.com to ask what we hold or to have it deleted.

Changes to this policy

We update the date at the top of this page when the policy changes. The current version is linked from the Chrome Web Store listing.
