1. Shopify Store Data

When you install our App, we access and process the following data from your Shopify store:

  • Product Information: Product titles, descriptions, prices, inventory quantities, variants, images, tags, product types, and categories
  • Product Metafields: Custom metafields (dimensions, color, size, gender, age group, size system) used for product feed analysis
  • Order Information: Order details including order IDs, creation dates, line items, pricing, and referrer URLs (used for LLM traffic analytics)
  • Shop Information: Store name, domain, and basic shop settings

Purpose: This data is used to analyze your products against ChatGPT's product feed requirements and provide recommendations for improving product data completeness.

2. Google Analytics 4 Data (Optional)

If you choose to connect your Google Analytics 4 account, we collect and store:

  • OAuth Tokens: Access tokens and refresh tokens to authenticate with Google Analytics
  • GA4 Property ID: The Google Analytics property you select for analytics tracking
  • Analytics Data: Session data, page views, traffic sources, and conversion events (read-only access)

Purpose: This data is used to show you analytics about LLM (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, etc.) traffic to your store and conversion rates.

3. App Usage Data

  • Session Data: Information about your use of the App interface
  • Error Logs: Technical logs to help us diagnose and fix issues

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  1. Analyze Product Data: Compare your product information against ChatGPT's product feed requirements
  2. Provide Recommendations: Identify missing or incomplete product fields and suggest improvements
  3. Track LLM Traffic: Show you analytics about traffic from AI platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini)

  • Storage: All data is securely stored on Gadget.dev's infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit

  • Isolation: Your store's data is isolated from other stores' data through Gadget's multi-tenant architecture
  • API Security: All API communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption

Third-Party Services

Gadget.dev

We use Gadget.dev as our backend platform to host the app and store data. Gadget.dev complies with industry-standard security practices.

Google Analytics 4

If you connect GA4, we access your Google Analytics data using OAuth 2.0. We only request read-only access to analytics data and the ability to list your GA4 properties. Your Google credentials are never stored by us.

Shopify

The App operates within Shopify's ecosystem and follows Shopify's API guidelines and security requirements.

Data Sharing

We DO NOT:

  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Share your data with advertisers
  • Use your data for purposes other than providing the App's functionality
  • Share your data with other Shopify stores or merchants

We MAY share data:

  • With Gadget.dev for hosting and infrastructure purposes
  • When required by law or legal process
  • In anonymized, aggregated form for analytics and research

Data Retention

  • Active Users: We retain your data while you have the App installed
  • Uninstalled App: When you uninstall the App, your data is retained for 30 days to allow for reinstallation, then permanently deleted
  • Analytics Data: GA4 analytics data is fetched in real-time and not permanently stored
  • Manual Deletion: You can request immediate data deletion by contacting us

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  1. Access: Request a copy of your data we have stored
  2. Correction: Request corrections to inaccurate data
  3. Deletion: Request deletion of your data (by uninstalling the App or contacting us)
  4. Portability: Request your data in a portable format
  5. Opt-Out: Disconnect GA4 integration at any time through the App settings
